Types of Hydroponics Systems

NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) System: Plants are grown in channels through which nutrient solution is pumped. Plant roots are kept moist by the thin film of nutrient solution. Ideal for shorter-term plants like lettuce and herbs.

Substrate System: Nutrient solution is delivered via drip emitters on a timed system. It flushes the growing medium (rockwool, perlite, etc.), providing fresh nutrients, water, and oxygen. Often used for long-term plants such as tomatoes.
